Addictive aspect of Marijuana

Marijuana has become quite an addictive substance. However, how addictive can marijuana prove to be for anyone? Well, this is indicated by the research carried out by The Diagnostic and
Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV). In this research, it is proved that  only those people can develop a weakness for this drug who are suffering from some kind of a social, medical and career related handicap. So, they already suffer from depression or eating disorders when they start using this drug and end up becoming addicts. Such people are not able to tolerate their conditions due to which they become excessively reliant on drugs. Therefore, any person who starts consuming cannabis excessively should have cannabis tolerance. This condition is marked by an increased consumption of this substance. It is because even though this substance is consumed in higher amounts, its impact is not the same. It can also be used for extended periods than decided when its consumption was initiated. In addition, such people do not have any success in reducing the consumption of this substance. This implies that they spent a longer time than other people in becoming normal after consumption did. They also start secluding themselves from social activities so that they can consume this drug more. Although addicts are aware that they can suffer from physical problems with a heightened use of this substance, they continue to take it. In fact, they also know that their physical problems can become worse because of such consumption, they cannot refrain from it. For cannabis or marijuana dependants, the withdrawal from this substance is accompanied with severe symptoms. Therefore, they can suffer from reduced appetite, lack of sleep and weight loss. All these symptoms differ when they consume and do not consume the drug. In fact, addicts also get weird dreams, anger, irritability, aggression and impatience during the first phase of withdrawal from the drug, but it does not happen in the second. Marijuana dependents also show some other kind of behavior, which involves consuming this substance inspite of its harmful impacts. These impacts include depression, which follows the heavy use of marijuana. In fact, even the cognitive functioning of a person gets impaired when this substance is consumed excessively. Its better that the user is made aware of the harmful impacts of this substance so that its consumption can be easily stopped.  In fact, the dependence of marijuana is generally characterized by a compulsion to take an increased intake of this substance, which increases even more during periods of withdrawal.
The patient can also feel better when he is taken for drug counseling. Also, the patient should also be given other kinds of treatments which can make him leave the drug. These recreations include taking him out for movies. If the patient is not able to leave marijuana, then its better to take him for group therapy sessions. May be looking at the behavior of other people can help him in realizing how drugs are making him/her miss parts of life. Without such counseling, its not possible for a person to leave the addiction of marijuana.
The reason why patients develop cannabis dependence is because it has been ignored altogether. They had been made to take drugs but their condition is not recognized. Therefore, patients who are suffering from dementia, adhd, bipolar disorder and eating disorders can start depending on marijuana once they start consuming it somehow. Parents who are not diagnosed as kids with adhd often need cure when they grow up. But their condition is undetected. So, if somehow, they get in touch with marijuana, consuming it can become a problem for them. Some of the patients also have eating disorders. For example females suffer from anorexia. They can become addicts of marijuana to curb their eating and stay slim. So, marijuana is not an addictive substance as such but for that its necessary to be given to healthy people. It can cause addiction in unhealthy people who suffer from disorders like ADHD and bipolar disorder. Even patients who suffer from bipolar disorder can find a remedy in cannabis, but its not. Such patients have a tendency to become victims of depression. They suffer from acute mood swings. Supportive therapy can also aid the patients in withdrawing from the drug.
