SKYFORCE: BASED ON THE LIFE OF A TRUE PATROIT
Today, we bring to you the review of the realistic war movie SkyForce. It was based on the true story of an Indian Air Force pilot during the 1965 Indo-Pak War. The movie had Veer Pahariya, Akshay Kumar, and Sara Ali Khan in lead roles. The 1965 war was initiated by Pakistan, which had been gifted state-of-the-art Star Striker planes by the US. An Indian pilot, T. K. Vijaya (Veer Pahariya) aka Tabby, and his teammate had crossed the border to gather information about such planes. When Pakistan attacks the Indian airbase Adampur at night, India decides to take revenge. It destroys all the Star Striker aircraft that are placed at the Sargodha airbase. The movie has excellent performances by all its lead stars. It has a gripping screenplay since it's based on an actual incident.
Due to not following the orders of his seniors, Tabby is excluded from this mission known as SkyForce. Additionally, there was a shortage of fuel, which prevented all pilots from participating in this secret mission. But Tabby secretly takes off after all his 12 colleagues have left for the SkyForce mission and does not return. Tabby’s pregnant wife, Geeta, persuades Group Captain Om Ahuja(Akshay Kumar) to find where Tabby is, but he can’t find his location. Fortunately, during the 1971 war, the Indian army captured a Pakistani officer, Ahmed, who had received an award for killing an Indian pilot in the 1965 war. The officer refuses to reveal the name of the pilot.
But when Captain Ahuja has retired, he receives a package from the Pakistani officer which contains his address in Pakistan. He visits him and tells him that Tabby was a brave pilot and fought against all adversities to save his returning fellow pilots after the Skyforce mission from being attacked by the following Star Striker. He shows the grave of Tabby to Captain Ahuja. Tabby had attacked Ahmed in his star striker aircraft, but his plane crashed in Pakistan. He was unable to escape through ejection due to being shot in the hand, and he died in the crashed plane. After learning about his bravery, the Indian government decides to present Tabby with the Maha Vir Chakra.
His wife, Geeta, receives the award, and Tabby’s daughter has grown up.
This is a story of the true courage of a man who gives his life for his
country. The story is based on the life of Squadron Leader Ajjamada Boppayya
Devayya , who gave up his life in the 1965 war. He is the only Indian
officer who has been given the Maha Vir Chakra award after his death.
