A sequel to The Devil Wears Prada in 2026! Are you waiting?

Are you excited about the movie, the sequel to the famous movie The Devil Wears Prada(2006)? The movie had Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt in the lead roles. It featured Meryl Streep in the role of the fashion magazine Runway’s arrogant editor, Miranda Priestley, who makes the job of her personal assistant a torture for Anne Hathaway’s character, Andy Sachs. 













Andy has to run various impossible errands for her, such as fetching two copies of J.K. Rowling’s unpublished manuscript of Harry Potter for her twin daughters. She also gives a strong, eye-opening lecture about fashion to Andy when her character makes fun of Miranda’s staff for putting too much emphasis on dressing models for the cover page of the magazine. Finally, Anne’s character undergoes a metamorphosis and starts dressing herself in fashionable, branded clothes with the aid of her friend, Nigel (Stanley Tucci), who works at a prominent position in the magazine. So, she starts getting the attention of Miranda after this huge change. 

The movie also featured Emily Blunt as a stereotypical character of a fashion magazine employee, Emily, who looks down upon Andy due to her nonchalant and “weird" dressing sense initially. Finally, the big success happens for Andy when she accompanies Miranda to the Paris Fashion Week and gets to meet all the hotshot designers. During the fashion week, Andy gets to know about the replacement of Miranda as the chief editor and rushes to inform her, but Miranda already knows.

The sequel to this movie is based on the novelist Lauren Weisberger's second installment, Revenge Wears Prada. Both these movies are based on Lauren’s personal experience as an assistant with Vogue’s chief editor, Anna Wintour. 

This sequel will have the screenplay written by Aline Brosh McKenna, who wrote the screenplay for the 1st movie too. McKenna is an expert at writing screenplays for rom-coms and has written the screenplay for 27 Dresses, too. The movie is expected to release on 1st May, 2026. It will also star the Bridgeton season 2 actress, Simone Ashley, and the famous Hollywood star, Lucy Lou. In the 2nd movie, all the main characters, Miranda, Nigel, Emily, and Andy, are no longer working together as Andy quit her job at the end of the first movie. Miranda was replaced by another editor at the fashion magazine. I hope the second movie is as famous as the 1st one, which earned a revenue of 10 times its budget.
